ABSTRACT
The thermal activation of clays to produce highly reactive artificial pozzolans on a large
scale is one of the most important technologies that have just been developed and
perfected on an industrial scale to reduce CO2 emission manufacturing cement. This
technical document aims to provide the scientific and technical basis for the thermal
activation of clays to produce a supplementary cementitious material (SCM) of
extraordinary pozzolanic quality based on the contents of its hydraulic factors, reactive
silica (SiO2
r–) and reactive alumina (Al2O3
r–) very especially and above all, its production
process, quality control and optimization of its use in new cements characterized by their
best performance, developments, and durability in addition to being eco-efficient because
they are much friendlier to the environment.
