Title : Structure-phase transformations in LiF crystals Initiated by nuclear reactions

Abstract:

Lithium compounds are studied due to the reaction of thermal neutron capture (_3^6)Li(n,?)(_1^3)H. Irradiation of LiF crystals in the reactor core is known to generate dislocations, defect clusters in (100) plane, Li colloids and cavities at nanoscale. The only example of using tritium nuclei t in the activation analyses is the use of conjugated nuclear reactions (_ ^6)Li(n,?)(_ ^3)H and (_ ^16)O(t, n)(_ ^18)F, however, other possible fission reactions of light nuclei from  Li to F generating (_1^3)H were not considered so far.
